Significant progress and finished works co-financed by EU OPD
The aim of the construction is to attain such technical and operational parameters so that, in the same way as the already completed sections, this section corresponds to the "Principles of modernisation and optimisation of selected railway network of the Czech Republic".
The aim of this reconstruction project was to increase the capacity and reliability, safety and track speed and install electrification systems on the line to ensure higher convenience for travellers and reduce the environmental impact.
Reconstruction of railway station Frýdlant nad Ostravicí
The construction "Optimisation of track České Velenice - Veselí nad Lužnicí, 1st construction" is one of a set of constructions for modernisation of the 4th transit rail corridor, which includes the section of the track from the state border with Germany, through Děčín, Prague, Veselí nad Lužnicí, České Budějovice and Horní Dvořiště to the state border with Austria.
Replacement of bridge superstructure, adjustment of levelling, including connection to communication before and after bridge, restoration of load-bearing construction, restoration of lower construction, concreting of new ledges, fitting of new crash barriers on left and right ledges, fitting of new railings, replacement and addition of traffic signs.
The aim of the project is the elimination of an obstacle hindering river traffic in the form of the low clearance height of the existing railway bridge on the Elbe waterway and the construction of a new railway bridge.
The Roads and Motorways Directorate is starting one of the most important constructions on the road I/21 which has great significance for transport in the Karlovy Vary region. This is the section at the town of Velká Hleďsebe near Mariánské Lázně. The new road will significantly contribute to an improved traffic situation in the locality.
In April 2008 the Ministry of Transport asked the European Union to co-finance this project from the Operational Programme Transport for the years 2007 – 2013. Anticipated approval of project and allocation of resources by the European Commission – in the second half of 2008.
